Their insights call for a reassessment of the recent plans for the EU-Lebanon migration deal, urging the EU and its member states to prioritise human rights and durable solutions for Syrian refugees.
Amplifying community perspectives is crucial – the voices of Syrian refugees and the majority of host communities are completely absent from these debates, despite the severe implications of such a deal: increasing anti-refugee rhetoric and unconditional support to Lebanese army and security services, are already leading to summary deportations, house evictions, and numerous other extremely unsafe situations for Syrian refugees.
