In partnership with 11.11.11 and the Refugee Council of Türkiye (TMK), Upinion presents its latest joint report gathering insights from Syrian refugees in Türkiye on the escalation of their obstacles and hardships.
Between July and September 2024, Upinion conducted three discussions focused on the current challenges and future hopes of Syrian refugees in Türkiye. As conversations surrounding EU support for these communities evolve, this research sheds light on critical needs and lived experiences, including:
- Main challenges and needs: Identifying the key obstacles to improving refugees’ access to services and livelihood.
- Access to assistance: Evaluating satisfaction with available support and barriers to obtaining information.
- Accountability: Analysing how effectively aid organisations are responding to the needs of those affected.
- Legal and safety concerns: Addressing issues related to legal documentation, safety fears, and potential deportation.
- Future aspirations: Understanding the visions that refugees have for their lives moving forward and migration plans.
Our qualitative data, gathered from a diverse group of participants, reveals emerging trends that can inform future policy and humanitarian initiatives.
We urge the international community—donor states, UN agencies, and governmental bodies—to engage with our findings and consider the recommendations outlined in the report. Together, we can enhance support for Syrian refugees in Türkiye.
